World Book Night a celebration of reading where 20,000 book lovers will give away a million books.

Book Aid International, Southwark Libraries and World Book Night present an evening of book-giving, readings, live music, and a reading and Q&A session with special guest Alexander Masters, author of Stuart: A Life Backwards.

Throughout the evening at John Harvard library there will be a team of World book night book-givers enthusing about their favourite books and handing out free copies to lucky readers.

For every £2 you donate to Book Aid International, another book will be put into the hands of someone who really needs it.

The event will feature two giant book sculptures: one in the shape of the UK which is to be created from the books given away on the night, and one of Africa, symbolising the books sent by the charity to Africa.
